YOUR OWN NICHE IN THE LORD (Dennis R. Smith)

YOUR OWN NICHE IN THE LORD
Dennis R. Smith
Book stores, newspaper articles and television programs, all seemingly have the answer to everything that a person might want to do but not knowing where to start. This type of journalism has become so popular that it even has me getting involved. May I then suggest ways in which you can find your
“own niche in the Lord.”
FIRST,
upon becoming a Christian the confession that you made was, in fact, a life-time commitment. That being the case, you need to then make a good examination of self (2 Cor. 13:5) in regard to your own ability. At that time, make a vow to yourself (Acts 18:18) that you will do whatever the opportunity might call for in your life (Gal. 6:10). Be fair and honest with self and do not sell yourself short as far as ability is concerned.
SECOND,
as these opportunities come up and you know you can do whatever it is that awaits, jump into it with all your might (Eccl. 9:10). Whatever discouragements, ridicule and misconceptions which others might have, must never deter you from making your mighty rounds for the Lord.
THIRDLY,
and probably the most important suggestion, do not ever take your eye off the goal you have set for your own life. You, and only you, know the true purpose of your heart. Oh yes, don’t forget that God also knows! Reach out to Him with thanks for helping you find
“your own niche in the Lord.”
