Villa Clara, Cienfuegos, Matanzas, and Sancti Spiritus Provinces of Cuba

The Republic of Cuba has 15 provinces, 169 municipalities and several hundred cities.  The mission work, provided by the Gulf Shores church of Christ, focuses on the Villa Clara province.  However, in recent years we have expanded that work into Cienfuegos, Matanzas, and Sancti Spiritus.  The latter province is growing rapidly!  We have been committed to human missions for nearly 20 years.  It is our prayer that this mission will continue to grow and that the gospel of Jesus Christ will spread all around the island of Cuba.

Disaster Relief

(Nashville, TN)

Areas of Ministry:

Disaster Relief:  Food & Water, Emergency Supplies Distribution

The Church of Christ Disaster Relief Effort is a source of supplies so that the local churches of Christs  congregations can go to work doing what the Lord told His church to do.

The Church of Christ Disaster Relief Effort immediately

responds to any major disaster in the United States by

sending truckloads of emergency food, water, cleaning

supplies and necessary items that are distributed to all victims in the disaster area through a local Church of Christ.  The Nashville, TN organization has fifteen employees, but most important are their unpaid volunteer workers who pack the supplies onto pallets and the volunteer truck drivers. These volunteers are the secret to the success of the organization.

The delivered supplies are turned over to the leadership of the local Church of Christ in the disaster area for them to distribute to all disaster survivors regardless of faith, ethnicity, race or background.

Hurricane Sally made landfall here in Gulf Shores on September 16, 2020. The Disaster Relief Effort team responded immediately sending the first of four semi-truck load shipments of supplies to Gulf Shores on the evening of September 17th. We distributed these supplies to over 500 families and 2,000 individuals in Gulf Shores and the surrounding areas. As one family wrote to us, “Y’all are truly doing the Lord’s work, and we felt that love in those boxes,”

Agape

Areas of Ministry -

Foster Care:  Agape’s mission is to provide safe, permanent families for vulnerable children. Agape’s foster care ministry  partners with Christ-centered foster families who provide  safe, nurturing care for children separated from their  families due to abuse or neglect. Their foster parents are ordinary people who do extraordinary things in the lives of children. Agape provides training before  placement and ongoing support to foster families. The families then provide love understanding, and  compassion to hurting children, and when appropriate, their birth families as well.

Adoption:  Agape has a special focus on keeping brothers and sisters together, They need families who can help honor the sibling bond by foster four or more siblings in their home.

Pregnancy Counseling: Agape is able to assist families wanting to adopt a child locally or from around the world. From the first contact, through the home study process, the waiting, to the placement and after Agape offers support to adoptive families. They offer therapeutic services for the facility parenting children who have experienced early trauma. No judgement, just unconditional love during pregnancy counseling. Agape social workers walk beside expectant parents as they explore their options using a Christ-centered, non-directive approach.
